Buried cables represent a major hazard to excavations. The C.A.T. ³V and C.A.T. ³+ are designed to locate these services so that they can be avoided.

The C.A.T. can detect signals naturally radiating from metallic services or the Genny can be used to apply a distinctive signal that the C.A.T. can detect. The C.A.T.³ is the latest from Radiodetection, the market leaders in cable location.

The advanced technology makes this range the most optimised cable avoidance tool in the market today. AvoidanceScan™ is a brand new feature and allows the operator to sweep an area searching for Power, Radio and Genny signals simultaneously, dramatically speeding up pre dig survey times, and encouraging the safe practice of using all three modes. This is standard on both models.

StrikeAlert™ alerts the user to identify shallow power cables by flashing the ALERT icon on the display of the CAT³V and CAT³+. This is an optional feature but is standard on all ESS Safeforce hire units. Shallow cables that are not buried in accordance with work practices and guidelines are the most common causes of cable strikes.

The CAT³+ has the added benefit of Active Depth feature with a ± 10% accuracy.
